Metà sicula, metà statunitense Cathy La Torre nasce a Erice nel 1980; è Avvocata e attivista per i diritti umani, ha fondato e dirige Wildside Human First studio legale interamente specializzato in digital law e diritti fondamentali applicati alle nuove tecnologie.
Si occupa di quello che definisce il lato selvaggio dei diritti o diritti XXL: extralarge, così comodi che ci entrano tutti.
Nel 2008 ha fondato il Centro Europeo di Studi sulla Discriminazione e nel 2013 la rete di avvocati e attivisti Gaylex per la tutela delle persone gay lesbiche bisessuali asessuali transgender e queer.

Nel 2019 è stata premiata come miglior avvocato pro-bono d’Europa.

Half Sicilian, half U.S. Cathy La Torre was born in Erice in 1980; she is a human rights lawyer and activist, and founded and runs Wildside Human First law firm specializing entirely in digital law and fundamental rights applied to new technologies.
She deals with what she calls the wild side of rights or XXL rights: extra-large, so comfortable they all fit.
In 2008 he founded the European Center for Discrimination Studies and in 2013 the Gaylex network of lawyers and activists to protect gay lesbian bisexual asexual transgender and queer people.
She teaches Diversity and Inclusion and is an expert in data protection.
In 2019 she was awarded Europe’s best pro-bono lawyer.
