3D photos arrive on Facebook (but not for everyone)

Facebook never stops and now it is ready to amaze us with 3D photos. Let's specify right away that they are not real 3D photos as the image will not be visible from all angles but simply you can "move" by moving your smartphone or mouse pointer. All in the feeling of having the subject in front of your eyes and the perception of observing a greater depth of field.

As with all good stories, however, there are limitations

In fact, explain the developers at Mark Zuckerberg's service, essential is to own a device with dual cameras (it will then be secondary but of relevant importance to capture the image with the portrait or portrait property).

In this way, captured images, thanks to Facebook's artificial intelligence, maintain a clear separation between foreground, background, and background subjects.

Of course, there are limits; some distinction between background and foreground subject is always required (it is not worth photographing a red strawberry in front of a red wall, to be clear).

The other sore point is that for the time being, the programmers themselves, mention only iOS terminals.

If both are not issues that concern you, then simply proceed to upload your photo in 3d.

Once you have taken the photo in portrait mode, open Facebook and click on "create a new post." 3D Photo should appear among the controls (in case you don't see it, update the app to the latest version). When this is done, social will have access to our gallery and will indicate the shots to which you can apply the three-dimensional mode. Choose the photo you are interested in and share it.

The 3D effect given to your photos is completely based on a recognition system between background and close-up. The double image reprocessed by the app will go to create a perception effect called parallax, which will allow Facebook to create a kind of "illusion" without the need for goggles.

Scrolling within the Facebook feed you will notice somewhat different photos: simply tilting the smartphone will show the described effect in the images, which gives the photo more depth.

The new feature, Facebook wants to emphasize, is being rolled out gradually and will be reached by all compatible devices over the next few weeks.

Try it to believe.
