Andrea Febbraio, the $500 million exit-maker

Andrea Febbraio is known as the serial venture builder in the digital marketing industry with ten exits in ten years totaling over $500 million (including Teads, AdEspresso, Xingu, AtomikAd, Hej!, Sellbrite). But in addition to being a renowned venture capitalist throughout Europe, Andrea Febbraio has revolutionized the way we talk about finance and investment with her podcast Hi Cicci.

In 2008 Andrea Febbraio founded Promodigital, the first "buzz marketing" platform in Italy. It was the entrepreneur's first Exit: the company was sold in 2010 to Wikio Group, for a sum equal to 4 times its revenues. In 2017 Andrea Febbraio invested in Sellbrite, a Silicon Valley startup that uses advertising technology to help SMEs sell their products on Amazon, eBay, Walmart.com, and other ecommerce outlets. Two years later, the company is acquired by web domain hosting and management company GoDaddy.

In January 2018 Andrea Febbraio, together with a pool of investors, launches Xingu (now Kiliagon), the first Italian agency with 100% focus on Amazon. In November 2020, the acquisition of 60% of its shares by the international group specializing in digital marketing Labelium, sponsor of Digital Innovation Days, is announced. The return is 3 times the investment.

In June 2017, AtomikAD appeared on the Italian scene, with Andrea Febbraio in the role of Chairman and Venture Builder. The startup is tasked with opening in Italy the business of "in-image" advertising, that is, ads placed within the images of editorial articles. In November 2020 it is acquired by international competitor SeedTag for six times its initial capital.

he latest deals sees Hej!, a digital agency founded in 2017 with the goal of connecting people to brands through chatbots, being acquired by the Mondadori Group in 2021.
