He played in the No. 8 jersey as a midfield winger, working hard to make his teammates score. Giampaolo Grossi says of himself,"Growing up in team sports helped me a lot in learning to be part of a group. Learning how to live with others and respect their traditions, habits and wills has been important for my cultural formation." It is a diversity-conscious philosophy that he applies daily at Starbucks Italy, where he is general manager.

This is a modest approach for being in fourth place of the managers with the most followers on Linkedin (he has 48,500!), as reported by Forbes in the Top Ten Most Followed CEOs ranking. Giampaolo Grossi believes deeply in respect for others, in the dignity of all people, in perfection, understood in the human and skills sense, in attention and sensitivity to details, values from which the world of work cannot disregard.

He was born in Florence and, after various international experiences in Hospitality, returned to Italy where he landed in Starbucks in Milan. From soccer as a team sport, his family and the vicissitudes of life, he learns human values that will forever be part of his philosophy of life. His imprint is visible in Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan in fact, where employees are free to be what they want, are listened to and considered as human beings, regardless of prejudice or preference. On the Digital Innovation Days stage, Giampaolo Grossi, will talk about his leadership style and his conception of an "inclusive workplace": a place other than home and office where people live together, welcoming, open to everyone. To us, it reminds us a bit of the "third half" of Rugby, where we exchange opinions as happens between friends... well, then, see you on the #DID2022 stage!
